Description of some of the most important prizes and accreditations received by COATO:

· COATO is the first Spanish company in its field certified by AENOR and IQNET in accordance with the ISO 9.002 and ISO 14.000. norms and has verified the European system of eco-management and eco-audit (EMAS. Nº E-MU 000001).

· COATO was nominated as a finalist in the Prince Felipe Quality Prize (IV Edition).

· Different authorised bodies of control officially certify that COATO’s organic and integrated production products are in accordance with European norms as well as with the protocols of the large European distribution companies (GLOBALGAP).

· The Environmental Ministry awarded COATO with the National Environmental Prize in 2002, presented by the Environmental Minister.

· The board of judges of the Spanish edition of the European Environmental Prizes 2.001-2.002 awarded COATO with this prize which was presented by HRH The Prince of Asturias.

· The European board of judges of the European Environmental Prize 2.002 of the European Union awarded COATO with this prize which was presented in Budapest by the European Environmental Commissioner. It was the first time that this prize was awarded to a Spanish company since 1987 which is when this prize was first created.

· The town council of Totana, location of COATO’s facilities, presented COATO with the Shield of Gold of the City of Totana in November 2002.

· The institute of the sustainability of resources foundation (ISR) which integrates the Spanish Club of Residues awarded first prize to COATO in the category of “Sustainable Company with the Best Project of Sustainability” in May 2003.

· In May 2005 the board of judges of the International Expoliva Contest (Jaen) awarded COATO with the Quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil Prize.
